Start Feeling Better
Most patients report meaningful shifts in mood, calm, or clarity within the first week of treatment.
Individual results vary. Most patients report noticeable improvements within 1–14 days.
If any of this sounds like you, you’re in the right place.
- Flashbacks hit without warning — a sound, a smell, a shadow — and you’re back there.
- Nightmares wake you up. You’re afraid to sleep.
- You’re always scanning the room. You can’t relax. Your shoulders haven’t dropped in years.
- You feel numb or detached from the people you love.
- You’ve tried EMDR, CPT, or prolonged exposure — and you’re still stuck.
- You’ve been on Zoloft, Paxil, or another SSRI for years. They blunted you. They didn’t heal you.
- You’re afraid this is just who you are now.
Ketamine doesn’t suppress the trauma. It changes how your brain stores it.
By promoting neuroplasticity and BDNF — the brain’s own rewiring chemistry — ketamine creates a window where traumatic memories can be revisited without flooding. Many patients describe it as: “I can think about it without my body reacting.”
Six Reasons PTSD Patients Choose NutraBrain
Most at-home ketamine programs are built for scale. NutraBrain is built for outcomes.
Rewires Trauma at the Memory Level
Ketamine promotes neuroplasticity and BDNF — not just symptom suppression. It changes how your brain stores the traumatic event, not how often you have to talk about it.
A Pioneer, Not a Platform
Treated personally by Dr. Mahjoubi — one of the first doctors in America to prescribe at-home ketamine. Not a rotating clinician. Not a chatbot.
The Only Oxytocin + Ketamine Formula in America
Our exclusive nasal spray combines ketamine with oxytocin — patients describe it as a game-changer for reconnecting with loved ones after years of emotional numbness.
Built Around Your Trauma, Not a Template
PTSD from combat looks different from PTSD after assault, after an accident, or after medical trauma. Dr. Mahjoubi tailors the protocol to your specific picture — including CPTSD and developmental trauma.
First Prescription On Us
Your first 30-day supply is covered. Try the protocol, meet Dr. Mahjoubi, experience the difference — before committing.
Works Alongside Your Trauma Therapist
Many of our patients continue EMDR, CPT, or somatic work alongside ketamine. We provide integration support and coordinate with your therapist when you give consent.

What ketamine therapy looks like for PTSD patients
PTSD recovery is rarely linear — and it usually takes longer than depression. Here’s the typical arc.
Days 1–7
Sleep Returns First
Most patients report falling asleep easier, fewer nightmares, and a small drop in baseline reactivity. The hypervigilance starts to soften.
Weeks 2–6
Triggers Lose Their Charge
Flashbacks become less frequent. Sounds, smells, and situations that used to flood you start to feel like memories rather than current events. Many patients finally engage with trauma therapy without flooding.
Months 3–12
Integration
“I can think about it without my body reacting.” Many patients continue working with a trauma therapist alongside, supported by Dr. Mahjoubi’s integration framework.
From PTSD patients who've come through it
5 Stars“Very nice staff. Comfortable environment. I had a lot of concerns about trying this but it has been worth it. Best price I could find, too. Ketamine can be very overpriced. Would recommend if you have chronic pain or PTSD“Jane A.Yelp
5 Stars“I was suffering from PTSD and depression and considering sucide, this treatment saved my life“Michael H.
5 Stars“Dr. David has been such a blessing. He's easy to work with, his prices are affordable, and remote ketamine has helped my symptoms so much. I'm capable of doing more now than I have been in a long time.“Julia H.

Common questions from PTSD patients
-
Often yes — and frequently the most powerful approach is combining them. Trauma therapy works best when your nervous system isn't constantly in fight-or-flight. Many patients who couldn't tolerate EMDR or PE before find they can engage fully once ketamine has softened their baseline reactivity. Dr. Mahjoubi supports patients continuing trauma therapy alongside ketamine, and can coordinate with your therapist when you give consent.
-
No. NutraBrain's at-home ketamine sessions don't require you to revisit specific memories during dosing. Many patients spend the session resting with eyes closed and music. The therapeutic effect comes from the neuroplastic window the medication opens — not from forced retelling of the trauma.
-
This is one of the most common questions from PTSD patients, and a reasonable one. At the sub-anesthetic doses NutraBrain prescribes, most patients describe a brief sense of detachment or floating — not the kind of involuntary dissociation associated with trauma response. For trauma-history patients we typically start at lower doses and build slowly so you stay in control. If your dissociation history is severe, Dr. Mahjoubi will discuss whether this is the right approach for you during your consult.
-
For most patients, yes — and the combination usually outperforms either one alone. Ketamine opens a neuroplastic window; trauma therapy uses that window for integration. We coordinate with your existing trauma therapist when you give consent. If you don't currently have one, we can offer referrals to integration-trained therapists in your state.
-
The VA does not currently cover at-home ketamine therapy from non-VA providers. NutraBrain is cash-pay. We provide a superbill you can submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Many of our veteran and first-responder patients tell us NutraBrain ends up costing them less out-of-pocket than what they were spending on co-pays, medications, and time off work for VA appointments.
-
CPTSD and developmental trauma respond to ketamine, but the protocol often differs from single-incident PTSD. Recovery typically takes longer, and the integration work with a trauma-trained therapist is more important. Dr. Mahjoubi tailors the protocol — often a longer microdose-style course — based on your specific picture.
-
It's uncommon at the doses NutraBrain prescribes, but possible. We provide grounding techniques as part of your intake materials, and Dr. Mahjoubi is reachable by email throughout your treatment. For patients with severe acute-trigger history, we may recommend in-clinic ketamine before at-home — your consult will determine the right fit.
-
Sleep improvement and reduced hypervigilance often arrive within the first week or two. Reduction in flashback frequency usually takes 4–6 weeks. Full integration of the trauma into a less reactive narrative takes months and is typically supported by trauma therapy alongside ketamine.
-
At prescribed therapeutic doses, the addiction risk is low. Unlike benzos or opioids, ketamine doesn't produce physical withdrawal. NutraBrain's dosing protocol is specifically designed to avoid tolerance and dependence.
-
Yes, when prescribed by a physician and used at therapeutic doses. NutraBrain's nasal spray, troche, and RDT formulations are all at sub-anesthetic doses. You'll be screened for contraindications (active psychosis, uncontrolled substance use disorder, certain cardiac conditions) during your consult.
-
If you're in immediate crisis or having thoughts of self-harm, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). Veterans can press 1 after dialing 988 for the Veterans Crisis Line. Ketamine therapy is a longer-term treatment — it's not the right tool for an active crisis. Dr. Mahjoubi can discuss appropriate options during your consult.
You've carried this long enough.
Most PTSD patients report better sleep and lower hypervigilance within weeks of their first dose. Only 48 new patient spots are accepted per month nationwide.
No contracts. First month covered. Prescription delivered to your door in every state NutraBrain serves.
Important Medical Disclosure: Dr. David Mahjoubi, MD’s official recommendation is for patients to see a psychiatrist first and for an adequate amount of time to assess response to traditional methods that combat PTSD, depression, and anxiety. Dr. Mahjoubi further recommends ongoing involvement of a psychiatrist and a trauma-trained therapist during ketamine therapy, as he is not a psychiatrist or psychotherapist. Individual results vary. This comparison is intended for informational purposes only and does not constitute medical advice.
